It Will Rain by Bruno Mars
If you ever leave me, baby,
Leave some morphine at my door
'Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don't have it anymore.
There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor (Ooh)
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I'm makin'
To keep you by my side
To keep you from walkin' out the door.
'Cause there'll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There'll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same, if you walk away
Everyday it'll rain, rain, ra-a-a-ain
I'll never be your mother's favorite
Your daddy can't even look me in the eye
Ooh, if I was in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing
Sayin' "There goes my little girl
Walkin' with that troublesome guy"
But they're just afraid of something they can't understand
Ooh, but little darlin' watch me change their minds
Yeah for you I'll try, I'll try, I'll try, I'll try
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding
If that'll make you mine
'Cause there'll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There'll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same, if you walk away
Everyday it'll rain, rain, ra-a-a-ain
Oh, don't you say (don't you say) goodbye (goodbye),
Don't you say (don't you say) goodbye (goodbye)
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding
If that'll make it right
'Cause there'll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There'll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
And just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same, if you walk away
Everyday it'll rain, rain, ra-a-a-ain
Twenty Eight by The Weeknd
This house is not a home to you
But you decide to go ahead
And lay down, lay down
There are no words to describe the depth in your difference
Cause I see your here to stay
Should of known I picked my fate
[Hook: The Weeknd]
I'm so wrong, I'm So Wrong
To let you in my
To let you in my home
Now you know where I sleep
Never thought so deadly
[Verse 2: The Weeknd]
Hey Lonely girl
Did you have to tell your friends
About the way I got you screaming my name
Did you have to tell the world
Now your girls all wanna fuck
You could have been the one
Gotta change my number twice a month
We could of simply kept it on the down low
[Hook: The Weeknd]
I'm so wrong, I'm So Wrong
To let you in my
To let you in my home
Now you know where I sleep
Never thought so deadly
[Verse 3: The Weeknd]
Now baby if I knew
You'd be living in my sheets
I wouldn't of shown you when he left
I would have left you in the glare
You said you don't belong
You keep saying then go on
And there is nowhere to go
But who keeps calling on your phone?
Im So Wrong
Im So Wrong
Im So Wrong
[Hook: The Weeknd 2x]
I'm so wrong, I'm So Wrong
To let you in my
To let you in my home
Now you know where I sleep
Never thought so deadly
I'm so wrong, I'm So Wrong
To let you in my
To let you in my home
Now you know where I sleep
Never thought so deadly
It's Time by Imagin Dragon
So this is what you meant
When you said that you were spent
And now it's time to build from the bottom of the pit
Right to the top
Don't hold back
Packing my bags and giving the academy a rain check
I don't ever wanna let you down
I don't ever wanna leave this town
'Cause after all
This city never sleeps at night
It's time to begin, isn't it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
That I'm never changing who I am
So this is where you fell
And I am left to sell
The path to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell
Right to the top
Don't look back
Turning the rags and giving the commodities a rain check
I don't ever wanna let you down
I don't ever wanna leave this town
'Cause after all
This city never sleeps at night
It's time to begin, isn't it?
I get a little bit bigger but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
That I'm never changing who I am
It's time to begin, isn't it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
That I'm never changing who I am
This road never looked so lonely
This house doesn't burn down slowly
To ashes, to ashes
It's time to begin, isn't it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
That I'm never changing who I am
It's time to begin, isn't it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
That I'm never changing who I am
Hang On Little Tomato by Pink Martini
The sun has left and forgotten me
It's dark, I cannot see
Why does this rain pour down
I'm gonna drown
In a sea
Of deep confusion
Somebody told me, I don't know who
Whenever you are sad and blue
And you're feelin' all alone and left behind
Just take a look inside and you will find
You gotta hold on, hold on through the night
Hang on, things will be all right
Even when it's dark
And not a bit of sparkling
Sing-song sunshine from above
Spreading rays of sunny love
Just hang on, hang on to the vine
Stay on, soon you'll be divine
If you start to cry, look up to the sky
Something's coming up ahead
To turn your tears to dew instead
And so I hold on to his advice
When change is hard and not so nice
You listen to your heart the whole night through
Your sunny someday will come one day soon to you
The character for the songs I chose was Othello. The first song I picked by Bruno Mars directly relates to him. It is about a guy would says if his girlfriend ever left him for good his life would suck and he basiclly has no other reason to live. The song by The Weeknd directly relates to him too. It is saying that if he knew his girlfriend was cheating, he would have done something about it a long time ago. The song by the Imagine Dragons talks about how everything was fine until something bad happened. Now everything is changing, people are changing, and decisions about your life have to be made. The song by Pink Martini relates directly to Othello too. It talks about how things may seem bad now but you just have to tough it out for a while and then everything will be okay. That is what Othello had to do when Desdemona was being accused. He gave her the benefit of the doubt at first.
At First
When I first found out I was wanted to know more
But you were seeing that guy next door, what'd you do that for
When I first left you, I didn't know what to say
Just sat by myself all day
I was so lost right then
But with the help of my friend
I found a light in the tunnel at the end
Now you're trying to make it right
By having a little wine and a moan
And it's only because you're feeling alone
At first when I see you cry,
I don't want to smile, but it makes me smile
At first I feel bad for a while,
Then I just smile
Whenever you see me you say that you want me back
And I tell you it don't mean jack,
I just couldn't help myself
See you messed up my mental health
I was so lost right then
But with the help from my friend
I found a light in the tunnel at the end
Now you're trying to make it right
By having a little wine and a moan
And it's only because you're feeling alone
At first when I see you cry,
I don't want to me smile, but it makes me smile
At first I feel bad for a while
Then I just smile
This song is about a guy that had a girlfriend but she cheated. Well, at least he thinks she did in Othello's case. Then, everytime she trys to make it right he pushes her away. He does not believe she is sorry. From the things he has heard from his 'friend', he thinks he has all the reason to be upset. When Iago gives Othello his 'proof' he has lost all faith in Desdemona. When she trys to make it right he rejects her. In the song, when it says smile it is just term for Othello rejecting Desdemona's pleas.
