Elizabethan Era Fashion
Women in the Elizabethan Era could not wear what they wanted. No matter how rich they were or who they were, the English law forbid it. They were called Sumptuary Laws and they were used to maintain social structure in the class systems of the Elizabethan Era. They fabrics and colors they wore were determined by their position and rank.
